Do I need tools or drilling to install?

Most items mount to factory points using the included hardware and basic hand tools. Drilling is not required unless explicitly stated on the product page.

Is it weather-resistant / waterproof?

Products are designed to be weather-resistant for normal riding conditions. Lids use perimeter seals (where applicable) to help protect contents from rain, snow and dust. Not intended for submersion or pressure-washer jets directed at the seals.

How much weight can I carry?

What materials is it made of? Will it handle low temperatures?

Boxes and canisters are typically made of high-strength, UV- and frost-resistant polyethylene (model-dependent). Hardware is galvanized or stainless steel. Operating range suits most climates; avoid open-flame heat sources and harsh solvents.

Can I use this together with a passenger seat or backrest?

The X8 has been in the range long enough that most of the ones in use have covered serious ground, and the original arches show it. On a machine of this age the extensions do two jobs: they protect the rider, and they cover fenders that have already taken years of stone damage.

The plastic keeps its shape mile after mile, which is what matters on a part that is struck constantly and never inspected.

Fitting is bolt-on to the fender already there. Nothing on the machine is cut, and the extensions follow the guard line closely.
