Do I need tools or drilling to install?

Most items mount to factory points using the included hardware and basic hand tools. Drilling is not required unless explicitly stated on the product page.

Is it weather-resistant / waterproof?

Products are designed to be weather-resistant for normal riding conditions. Lids use perimeter seals (where applicable) to help protect contents from rain, snow and dust. Not intended for submersion or pressure-washer jets directed at the seals.

How much weight can I carry?

Please follow the manufacturer’s rated load for your front/rear rack or tunnel. Internal volume is listed on the product page; distribute weight evenly and secure the load.

What materials is it made of? Will it handle low temperatures?

Boxes and canisters are typically made of high-strength, UV- and frost-resistant polyethylene (model-dependent). Hardware is galvanized or stainless steel. Operating range suits most climates; avoid open-flame heat sources and harsh solvents.

Can I use this together with a passenger seat or backrest?

Most rear solutions are designed to stay within vehicle dimensions and not interfere with a passenger. Always check product photos and dimensions; on some models repositioning of handholds/backrests may be required.

GKA BASIC Mount for Jerry Cans

The GKA BASIC mount is the quick-release fastener used across the whole Tesseract can range. Bought on its own, it does one useful thing the model-specific cans cannot: it lets you put a can wherever there is somewhere to bolt it — a rack, a bumper, a platform, a cargo bed, a trailer.

The mount is in two halves. The metal base bolts to the machine with six bolts and nuts and stays there. The aluminium core stays on the can. Between them sits the locking device, which takes the can off in seconds and holds it through terrain that would shake a strap loose.

That split is why it also works as a spare or replacement: bases can be fitted in several places on one machine, and a single can moves between them.

Cans are not the only thing it carries. The same mount takes a gun case or any other item fitted with the matching core.
