Do I need tools or drilling to install?

Most items mount to factory points using the included hardware and basic hand tools. Drilling is not required unless explicitly stated on the product page.

Is it weather-resistant / waterproof?

Products are designed to be weather-resistant for normal riding conditions. Lids use perimeter seals (where applicable) to help protect contents from rain, snow and dust. Not intended for submersion or pressure-washer jets directed at the seals.

How much weight can I carry?

What materials is it made of? Will it handle low temperatures?

Boxes and canisters are typically made of high-strength, UV- and frost-resistant polyethylene (model-dependent). Hardware is galvanized or stainless steel. Operating range suits most climates; avoid open-flame heat sources and harsh solvents.

Can I use this together with a passenger seat or backrest?

Most rear solutions are designed to stay within vehicle dimensions and not interfere with a passenger. Always check product photos and dimensions; on some models repositioning of handholds/backrests may be required.

The 2up layout puts weight over the rear axle and a passenger’s legs beside the rear plastic. Both change what a rear impact means: more mass behind the contact, and something worth protecting that is not just bodywork.

Steel tube handles slow contacts — the reversing knocks that make up almost all rear damage — without cracking the way a moulded guard does.

It bolts to the factory attachment points and leaves the rear rack usable, so cargo capacity is not traded for protection.
