Do I need tools or drilling to install?

Is it weather-resistant / waterproof?

Products are designed to be weather-resistant for normal riding conditions. Lids use perimeter seals (where applicable) to help protect contents from rain, snow and dust. Not intended for submersion or pressure-washer jets directed at the seals.

How much weight can I carry?

What materials is it made of? Will it handle low temperatures?

Boxes and canisters are typically made of high-strength, UV- and frost-resistant polyethylene (model-dependent). Hardware is galvanized or stainless steel. Operating range suits most climates; avoid open-flame heat sources and harsh solvents.

Can I use this together with a passenger seat or backrest?

Most rear solutions are designed to stay within vehicle dimensions and not interfere with a passenger. Always check product photos and dimensions; on some models repositioning of handholds/backrests may be required.

Rear Storage Box for BRP Can-Am Outlander 450

A 105-litre rear storage box for the Can-Am Outlander 450 and the DPS version of the same machine. It was drawn around the rear rack rather than adapted to it, so it does not extend past the vehicle and does not get in the rider's way.

Mounting uses U-shaped bolts rather than clips. They clamp around the metal profile of the rack, which means the hold does not depend on a particular hole pattern and does not loosen over corrugated ground.

The lid carries a metal keyed lock and a gasket seal, so water, dust and dirt stay outside. The walls are ribbed — that is what keeps a box of this size balanced and stiff at 8 kg rather than heavy.

Because it clamps with U-bolts, it holds on any rear rack built from metal profiles. Larger Outlanders in the 650 to 1000 range take the 130-litre box instead.
