Do I need tools or drilling to install?

Most items mount to factory points using the included hardware and basic hand tools. Drilling is not required unless explicitly stated on the product page.

Is it weather-resistant / waterproof?

Products are designed to be weather-resistant for normal riding conditions. Lids use perimeter seals (where applicable) to help protect contents from rain, snow and dust. Not intended for submersion or pressure-washer jets directed at the seals.

How much weight can I carry?

Please follow the manufacturer’s rated load for your front/rear rack or tunnel. Internal volume is listed on the product page; distribute weight evenly and secure the load.

What materials is it made of? Will it handle low temperatures?

Boxes and canisters are typically made of high-strength, UV- and frost-resistant polyethylene (model-dependent). Hardware is galvanized or stainless steel. Operating range suits most climates; avoid open-flame heat sources and harsh solvents.

Can I use this together with a passenger seat or backrest?

Most rear solutions are designed to stay within vehicle dimensions and not interfere with a passenger. Always check product photos and dimensions; on some models repositioning of handholds/backrests may be required.

Rear Cargo Box for Segway Snarler

A 110-litre rear box built to the rack of the Segway Snarler. Every feature of that rack was taken into account, so the box integrates with it rather than sitting proud of it: no overhang past the rack sides, and nothing in the way of the rider.

One hundred and ten litres takes two full-size helmets and still leaves room for the rest of a day's gear. That is the practical threshold most riders measure a box against.

It fastens onto the rack with clamps that grip the metal profile, so the hold does not depend on a particular hole pattern. Lock latches secure the lid, a rubber gasket seals it against dust and water under severe use, and ribbing through the shell keeps a box this size rigid. Empty weight is 10.7 kg.

Use Cases

Two helmets at the trailhead, jackets when the weather turns, tools and a tow strap on a work day. The gasket is what makes it useful in practice — gear goes in dry and comes out dry regardless of what the ride threw at it.

With the matching can fitted, the Snarler covers longer routes without anything strapped to the outside of the machine.

Compatibility

Made for the Segway Snarler. It mounts to the standard rear rack without modification.

There is also a front box for the same machine, which splits the load front and back instead of putting all of it behind the rear axle.
