Guards that close the footwell openings on both sides of the CFMOTO ZFORCE Z950, for driver and passenger. The failure they prevent is specific and expensive. On these buggies the footwell sits behind the front wheel with the plastic wheel arch as its only barrier. A stick picked up by the tyre and driven upward goes through the arch, and once the arch is cracked the footwell is simply open. After that everything the front wheel finds arrives at your feet. The guard takes the strike instead, and the wheel arch survives — which matters, because replacing UTV bodywork costs several times what the guard does. It covers both sides. The passenger footwell is the one usually overlooked and the one where the occupant has no warning at all. Deadfall and cut ground, the worst case — a stick driven upward with the full force of the tyre behind it. Carrying passengers who are not watching the trail and cannot move a foot in time.
